Instant Immersion French Platinum Reviewer's Comments

*We chose not to include Instant Immersion Platinum in our updated review of Learn French software because it is basically the same as Instant Immersion Deluxe, the #4 product, with some additional audio CDs. Instant Immersion has opted to incorporate their audio CD collection with Auralog's Tell Me More software package to create the Platinum package.

There are only three differences between the #1 product (Tell Me More) and Instant Immersion French Platinum. First, Tell Me More includes a headset so you can take advantage of the state-of-the-art speech recognition software; this product, Instant Immersion Platinum, does not come with a headset. Second, Instant Immersion offers a complete package of audio CDs.

The third difference is customer and technical support. Auralog offers phone support for Tell Me More, whereas TOPICS doesn't offer phone support for Instant Immersion. Auralog is the original creator of this software, so if you often have technical support questions, Tell Me More would be better option.

Features:  

Tell Me More Premium/Instant Immersion offers appealing navigation and intuitive controls. This program is easy for beginners and advanced students alike.

Fundamentals:  

Instant Immersion Platinum is structured exactly like Tell Me More. There are three forms of learning: Guided Mode, Free-to-Roam Mode, and Dynamic Mode. Each mode offers different benefits and teaching methods. What makes Instant Immersion Platinum/Tell Me More exceptional in the software field is their speech recoginition software. But because Instant Immersion doesn't include a headset, you'll have to purchase one to use this feature.

Ease of Use:  

We had no problems installing Instant Immersion French Platinum. The package includes four discs, one installation disc and three other discs—one each for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. The program also comes with a set of audio CDs.

Teaching Tools:  

The main difference between Tell Me More and Instant Immersion Platinum is that Instant Immersion does not offer a telephone support number, and their representatives are less knowledgeable than the original software manufacturer. However, The help within the software is excellent.

Word Tools:  

This software covers all of the core curriculum areas for learning the French language thoroughly. Beyond fundamentals, Tell Me More Premium/Instant Immersion French offer students an unsurpassed cultural learning experience that includes geography. Fun activities in the map section can help you learn the names and locations of rivers, cities, and landmarks.

Tech Support/Help:  

Tell Me More Premium is the most effective product on the market for learning French. The software includes an excellent combination of games and structured lessons to give you the varied learning environment you need to master a foreign language.

Summary:  

If you already have a headset, then Instant Immersion is an excellent choice, as it includes an extensive learn French audio CD set to further your learning. But in all, the Instant Immersion Platinum program is the same software as the #1 product, Tell Me More.
